Ground spraying to kill mosquitoes is scheduled between 9 p.m. and midnight today and Friday on Empire Tract in the Delta west of Stockton, and a portion of Stockton bordered by Meadow Avenue, Lincoln Road, Pershing Avenue and Alexandria Place.

Ground spraying is also scheduled this week in Manteca and Ripon.

Spraying by the San Joaquin Mosquito and Vector Control District is planned to deter the potentially fatal West Nile virus from infiltrating the county. For more information, call 877-968-2473 or visit westnile.ca.gov.

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
