Lodi to mark Veterans Day at American Legion

Mayor Alan Nakanishi is the keynote speaker at Monday’s Veterans Day observance at the American Legion, 320 N. Washington St. Additional guest speakers will include Greg Hartman, CW4 and Sgt. Brandon Wright. The master of ceremonies will be Bill Selling.

Other activities at the 11 a.m. observance will include:

  • Invocation by Chaplin Chad Donley.
  • Posting of the colors led by Julian Lopez, the post’s sergeant at arms.
  • Pledge of Allegiance, led by Tammy Hulme, of the Lodi Girl Scout Service Unit 182.
  • Tribute to prisoners of war and those missing in action by Ken Kramlich.

Musical selections during the ceremony will include: National Anthem by Audie Silber’s third-grade class and Dottie Phelps’ fourth-grade class from Lodi Seventh-day Adventist School; medley of military songs by the Lodi Community Band, under the direction of Art Holton; “God Bless America,” sung by Erica and Erin Anderson; and a medley of music by the Ham Lane Church praise team.

Following the ceremony, those who attend are invited to a light lunch of hot dogs, chips and soda.
