Residents living in the Galt area serviced by the Golden Heights Deep Well could continue to see lower water pressure over the next several weeks. A pump that services the well failed last week. Before that, it provided more 30 percent of the city’s water in July.
As the project has not been accepted, the contractor is fully responsible to replace all failed equipment. The contractor has removed the equipment in the well to determine the cause of the failure and is working to replace the pump, according to City Manager Jason Behrmann.
Until the well is repaired, water users in the northeast area may experience low pressures, although Behrmann said Tuesday he is unaware of any complaints to date.
