The Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Council will have a new look beginning tonight, as newcomers Mark Lewis and Doug Field are sworn into office by Denise Warmerdam, legislative assistant for San Joaquin County Supervisor Ken Vogel.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Lodi Elks Lodge, 19071 N. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi.

Council member Tasso Kandris chose to step down and not seek re-election to the seven-member board this year, while MAC members Mary Avanti and Charles Stocker had to give up their seats when they decided to run for a Woodbridge Sanitary District seat instead.

However, Vogel has the discretion to appoint Avanti and Stocker to the municipal advisory council, which makes recommendations regarding Woodbridge issues to the Board of Supervisors.

Applications for the two seats are being accepted by the clerk of the board’s office through Dec. 28. Applications are available by calling the clerk of the board’s office at 209-468-3113 or at www.sjgov.org. The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to make appointments to the MAC on Jan. 8.
