If the police are looking for you as the suspect of a home invasion robbery, don't go to a loud party.

Lodi police, responding to a loud party in the 1900 block of South Church Street, arrested a 17-year-old boy at 3:30 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of participating in a robbery on Rutledge Drive July 28, police said.

The teen, whose name will not be disclosed because he is under 18 years old and legally a juvenile, was taken to San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall in French Camp on suspicion of attempted murder. There were eight or nine people at the party.

The arrest stems from an incident on July 28, when the youth and two other people reportedly forced their way into an apartment in the 900 block of Rutledge Drive, according to police Sgt. Doug Chinn. One victim was shot in the mouth, police said, and a second occupant was assaulted and pistol-whipped.

A second suspect, Raymond Joseph Garcia, 24, was arrested Aug. 3 during a traffic stop on Klamath Court in Lodi. A third suspect remains at large, Chinn said.

not clear about underage designation. Then they are charged and tried as adults. Maybe it should be dropped to below 15 yrs. old.

I don't understand the "underage" name disclosure. If they are old enough to pull this kind of stunt, their name should be plastered all over town. We are supposed to have compassion for these punks just because they are under 18? Maybe somebody does, I sure don't.

Very good job by LPD to get bad individual. Loud party in bad part of town, that is where they will be.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
