Hardworking, loving and a wonderful husband and father are just a few of the words Lodi’s Andrea Schmidli used to describe her father, Mercelino Ochoa Castellano, on Thursday, just days after he was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5, south of Sacramento.

Castellano, 68, was on his way to work at Pacific Coast Producers in Woodland with two coworkers early Sunday morning when another driver in a Mercedes CLK 320 struck his 1999 Volvo V70, causing it to flip and roll onto the southbound lanes of traffic before coming to rest on its roof on the shoulder of the southbound lanes.
