Lodi Lake will be lowered on Feb. 1 for inspection and maintenance on the Woodbridge Dam and fish screen, the Woodbridge Irrigation District directors said at a board meeting Thursday. The lake should be back to normal levels by March.
In other action, the board rejected a request from Lance Randolph of Periano Estate Vineyards, who was claiming $2,095 for dirt and leveling costs.
This bill was for a project to raise the level of Randolph’s land to the level of the Wilkerson Lateral Canal on the south side. The board was not approached about this project until the bill appeared.
The board also heard a report on the 2012 budget and considered a final budget plan for the year. Board president William Stokes noted that the cost of many necessary budget items, such as pesticides to clear weeds from canals, are rising even faster than inflation.
“We do have a big surplus of money and we need to make considerations,” said Stokes.
An official budget will be prepared for the next meeting.
