Saturday’s Prescription Drug Take Back program in San Joaquin County yielded more than 100 pounds of pills, according to a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department press release.
The pickup lasted for four hours Saturday morning and University of the Pacific pharmacy students assisted the effort by passing out pamphlets during the collection. The collection offered citizens a no-questions-asked opportunity to dispose of expired, illegal or unwanted prescription drugs.
Saturday’s pickup was a national event hosted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
