The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department has completed its investigation into a fatal Galt officer-involved shooting last summer and forwarded its report to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
However, the district attorney has yet to issue any findings and it is unclear when that may happen, Galt City Manager Jason Behrmann said.
Phillip Oliver, 28, was killed on June 3 after police said he was assaulting his mother and carrying a knife. He also threatened to kill the officers, Galt Police Lt. James Uptegrove said at the time.
Meanwhile, the city denied the wrongful death claim filed by the man’s family in July. No lawsuit has been filed.
