Community supporters are invited to an early morning celebration today of the reopening of Galt Joint Union Elementary School District’s previously shuttered school libraries.
A committee composed of parents, teachers, district, board and community members joined together to raise funds to reopen the libraries. The district agreed to operate the libraries and fund library technicians in six-week increments at a cost of $16,000 as the community group worked to reach the entire school year’s library funding goal of $106,000.
