Hospice of San Joaquin held a wall-moving renovation ceremony at its new Lodi office at 1300 W. Lodi Ave. on Tuesday. More than 100 people turned out to hear speakers and support the nonprofit organization in their capital campaign renovation fundraising efforts, headed by retired development director Barbara Pombo.
The renovations, projected to cost $100,000 and be completed by Feb. 2014, include more office space and a conference room for Hospice officials to hold roundtable discussions regarding specific patient needs.
“By making a presence here in Lodi, we feel we can better serve the northern part of the county,” said campaign co-chair Sharon Stokes, who was among the speakers featured at the event.
Hospice of San Joaquin has served the community since 1980, and offers bereavement counseling to any community member.
