On Thursday night, Lodi police ended a vehicle pursuit when the suspect began driving against traffic on Highway 99, officers said.
Around 6:55 p.m., officers responded to Home Depot, located at the Reynolds Ranch Parkway, for a report of a forgery, Lodi Police Sgt. Eric Versteeg said. Store security had detained one suspect, Alec Fischer, 29, who was booked into the Lodi Police Department Jail on suspicion of forgery.
When officers arrived, a security guard identified a possible accomplice sitting in a nearby car.
As officers attempted to make contact, they said the suspect in the vehicle sped away, according to Versteeg.
Officers followed the vehicle toward Highway 99 and eventually north in the southbound lanes. Officers ended the pursuit because of the dangerous driving conditions.
