This week in Arkansas, a 5-year-old boy lost his life in a van with the outside temperature of only 88 degrees.

It will be much hotter than that in the Central Valley in the coming days, just the type of weather that can seriously injure or kill a child trapped inside a parked car. The California Office of Traffic Safety joins state and local officials in cautioning parents and caregivers to make sure children are never left in cars and can never find their way into an unattended car.
