Police have no new information about a 17-year-old male who was shot in the back at about 9 p.m. Thursday night, Detective Tim Fritz said.

Because the victim was a minor, the police cannot release his name. There is no new information about the shooting, and the police had not arrested anyone, as of Friday afternoon.

The victim was shot in the 800 block of South Washington Street when he was standing in front of a driveway with a group of 18 to 24-year-olds, Sgt. David Griffen said.

The victim suffered a collapsed lung and couldn't feel his legs, Griffen said. He was first taken to Lodi Memorial Hospital and then transferred to UC-Davis.
