Additional portions of the Central Galt Interchange at Highway 99 are now open to public traffic. The new interchange is part of the city’s largest-ever public works project and started two years ago.
The C Street overcrossing is now open to two-way traffic and the north an south connectors between A and C streets are now open to one-way traffic. The intersections are controlled with temporary stop signs pending the completion of traffic signal control work, which is anticipated within the next two weeks, according to Public Works Director Steven Winkler.
In addition, Camellia Way adjacent to Galt High School has reopened to through traffic.
