Two new members were appointed to the Micke Grove Zoological Society’s board of directors.
Wendy Moore, a fourth-generation Lodi resident who retired last year as San Joaquin County’s deputy Human Services Agency director, and developer Wayne Craig are the new board members.
The zoological society is a nonprofit volunteer organization that assists the county in running Micke Grove Zoo and conducts fundraisers for exhibit improvements, educational programs and community outreach.
Moore spent 24 years with the county focusing on aging, seniors and community services. She now runs her family’s farm west of Lodi.
Craig has 35 years of experience in real estate and is the developer of residential and commercial properties. He previously taught in the Lodi Unified School District and San Joaquin Delta College, and he was an assistant professor at University of the Pacific. He was Educator of the Year in 1976 and Teacher of the Year in 1975 in Lodi Unified.
