The following is a list of public meetings in the Lodi and Galt areas this week:

Today

Galt City Council Youth Committee

Key items:

  • Nonprofit status fundraising.
  • Crafting with Santa.
  • Kids’ Day in the skate park.
  • Halloween party.

When and where: 6 p.m., Galt City Hall community room, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.

Tuesday

Lodi Unified School District board of trustees

Key items:

  • Vote to eliminate four part-time speech language pathology assistants in the district’s Health Services Department.
  • Recommend appointment of Homar Juarez to serve on the Measure Citizens’ Oversight Committee.
  • Approve the GOT Kids Foundation articles of incorporation and authorize staff to take the next steps to form the foundation.
  • Consider a credential waiver for driver's education teachers.

When and where: 7 p.m., James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi.

Lodi City Council shirtsleeve

Key item: Update of city radio master plan, a federal mandate that public safety agencies create a system to communicate over a common radio frequency. The report will be the fire department.

When and where: 7 a.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Lodi Recreation Commission

Key item: Updates on DeBenedetti Park, Fourth of July celebration and Grape Bowl.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • Report by Chief Probation Officer Patricia Mazzilli on how public safety realignment will be put into place.
  • Accept study on county animal services.
  • 2010 annual report by Agricultural Commissioner Scott Hudson.
  • Final decision on reapportionment of the five Board of Supervisor districts.
  • Final map to convert Arbor Mobile Home Park northeast of Highway 99 and Woodbridge Road into 173 condominiums.
  • Amendment to agreement with engineering consultant James C. Hanson for specialized water rights engineering services to lobby state and federal officials for Mokelumne River water storage and Freeport water project.
  • Appeal by David Lind of the county’s weed abatement fees on his property at 4018 W. Sargent Road, Lodi.
  • Award $128,000 contract to Victory Engineers to repair surface of four concrete bridges at Dustin Road across Dry Creek overflow, Elliott Road across Mokelumne River overflow, Bruella Road across Mokelumne River and Santa Fe Road across the Stanislaus River.
  • Annual report on delegation of authority to county administrator and department heads.

Wednesday

Lodi City Council

Key items:

  • Accept improvements for Harney Lane widening project and approve no-parking zones on the south side of Harney Lane from Reynolds Ranch Parkway to Cherokee Lane.
  • Public hearing on 2010 Urban Water Management Plan update.
  • Presentation of Lodi Video Contest Award to Misael Garibay.
  • Presentation of Government Finance Officers Association’s certificate for excellence in financial reporting.
  • German exchange students.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Galt City Council

  • Presentation on phasing of the Central Galt corridor rehabilitation and a parking lot adjacent to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
  • Lease agreement with The Gathering Place church for two city-owned houses on Fifth Street.
  • Adopt negative declaration for Highway 99-Twin Cities Road interchange modification project.
  • Request by Youth Committee to waive entrance fees for a teen event scheduled for the Gora Aquatic Center on Aug. 20 and extending closing hours for the skate park on Chabolla Avenue from dusk to 9:30 p.m.
  • Form an ad hoc committee to plan the 2012 Galt Fourth of July celebration.
  • Consider amending the amount of time that public speakers are allowed to address the City Council.

When and where: 7 p.m. City Hall, 380 Civic Drive, Galt. (Date changed from Tuesday because of National Night Out event.)

Mokelumne Rural Fire District board

Key items:

  • Pay bills.
  • Fire chief’s report

When and where: 7 p.m., Mokelumne Rural Fire District, 13157 E. Brandt Road, Lockeford.

Thursday

Thornton Municipal Advisory Council

Key items:

  • Public safety reports from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and Thornton Rural Fire District.
  • Report on Safe Routes to School program.
  • Discuss property adjacent to post office.
  • Discuss collaboration with Thornton Community Center.

When and where: 7 a.m., New Hope School Community Center, 26776 N. Sacramento Blvd., Thornton.
