Drive as little as possible, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District officials advise

With temperatures expected to be well in the 90s this week, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District advises residents to reduce their driving.

The pollution district advises you to take the following steps through Wednesday:

    Do what I can. Recentl traded my gas mower for a reel mower. That is the push mower, all elbow grease with no gas needed for you youngin's.

    Good advice.
    It would also be good to advise everyone to minimize use of high powered blowers to move dust leaves and other particulate from yards and walkways into and into the air. We breath, the nearby street and neighbors yard.
    " mow and blow" makes the immediate area look nice for a day or two but the downside is not good. This mowing and blowing creates a lot of air and noise pollution and needs to be minimized.
