The man who has steered a massive nonprofit for business development in San Joaquin County since 1994 is stepping down to take a position with the city of Stockton.
Mike Locke, who has served as president and CEO of the San Joaquin Partnership since 1994, accepted a position as Stockton's deputy city manager and will begin shortly after New Year's.
During Locke's tenure, the partnership recruited or retained 340 companies to the county and generated billions in revenue and more than 56,000 jobs. Locke's last day will be Jan. 7. He starts his new position Jan. 10.
