Although property was damaged during a brief firefight Sunday evening, no injuries have been reported as a result of it, said Sgt. Doug Chinn of the Lodi Police Department.

The shooting took place on the 400 block of Eden Drive around 11:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of gunfire in the area and discovered a vehicle collision in the location, Chinn said.

“It appeared some Norteños were hanging in front of a residence when unknown subjects pulled up and started firing,” he said.

Two parked cars and a streetlight were hit with stray bullets, police said. A third vehicle, which was occupied, was also struck, police said.

After the car was hit with a bullet, the driver attempted to flee the scene but collided with another vehicle.

No information about potential suspects or vehicles they were in is currently available. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Lodi Area Crime Stoppers at 209-333-6771.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
