The following is a list of public meetings in the Lodi and Galt areas this week:


Galt Joint Union High School District board of trustees special meeting

Key items:

  • Discuss and approve the interviewing and hiring process for a new superintendent.
  • Approve contract of new Galt High School principal.
    When and where: 7:30 p.m., district office, 417 C St., Galt.

Galt Youth Committee special meeting

Key item:

  • Prepare for Galt Festival.
    When and where: 6 to 7:15 p.m., City Council conference room 380 Civic Drive, Galt.


San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • Adopt initial study and mitigated negative declaration for the Tully Road bridge replacement at Bear Creek in Lockeford.
  • Adopt independent contractor agreement with Head Start Child Development Council to prepare and deliver senior meals during the 2009-10 fiscal year.
  • Consider recommendation to terminate multi-year agreements for the First 5 Children and Families Commission.
  • Award contract for Micke Grove Zoo drainage replacement.
    When and where: 9 a.m., county courthouse, 222 E. Weber Ave., seventh floor, Stockton.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key item:

  • Final budget hearing for non-county organizations including Child Abuse Prevention Council, Community Partnership for Families, child care/children's services coordinator for the county Office of Education, Family & Youth Services, Economic Development Association, San Joaquin Historical Society, San Joaquin Partnership, Superior Court collaborate courts partnership program and the Women's Center sexual assault and Project STEP.
    When and where: 1:30 p.m., county courthouse, 222 E. Weber Ave., seventh floor, Stockton.

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation Commission

Key items:

  • Mokelumne River life preserver program.
  • Parks and Recreation budget for 2009-10.
    When and where: 5:30 p.m., Micke Grove Park administration building, 11793 N. Micke Grove Road, Lodi.


Lodi Planning Commission

Key items:

  • Request for Type 48 on-sale General Alcoholic Beverage Control license at 17 W. Pine St. Applicant: Sonny Keophimane.
  • Request for approve of a winery Alcoholic Beverage Control license for Estate Crush at 2 W. Lockeford St.
    When and where: 7 p.m., 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Galt Joint Union Elementary School District board of trustees

Key item:

  • Approval of the 2009-10 budget.
    When and where: 7 p.m., City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key item:

  • Final budget hearings for County Administrator's Office, Human Resources, Registrar of Voters, Animal Control, Community Development, Public Works, capital maintenance, Parks and Recreation, county library, sheriff's department, district attorney, public defender and related services.
    When and where: 9 a.m., county courthouse, 222 E. Weber Ave., seventh floor, Stockton.

Lodi Public Art Advisory Board

Key items:

  • Smart & Final project.
  • Historic Japantown mural.
  • Sidewalk mosaic art project update.
  • Policy discussion.
    When and where: 12:30 p.m., Green Room, Hutchins Street Square, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.


San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • Hearing on potential changes to fees including dog licenses, marriage licenses, recording real estate, behavioral health, Micke Grove and Oak Grove regional parks, parking fees at all regional parks, hourly rate for public defender, various permits and fees, jail booking fees, overnight airport parking.
  • Budgets for small county-run lighting, water and maintenance districts.
  • Adopt final budget for the 2009-10 fiscal year.

Galt Commission on Aging

When and where: 5:15 p.m., Parks and Recreation conference room, 610 Chabolla Ave., Galt.

San Joaquin Partnership board of directors

Key items:

  • Enterprise zone legislative "threat."
  • Presentation on California High Speed Rail-Altamont Corridor.
    When and where: 2800 W. March Lane, Suite 470, Stockton.
