Republican Congressional candidate Ricky Gill reports raising more than $420,000 through June 30, according to his campaign.

Gill, 25, announced on May 17 that he is seeking the congressional seat currently held by Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton. Due to new congressional boundaries that will be determined in August by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, Gill and McNerney might not be opponents in the 2012 election.

McNerney may have to decide whether to run in San Joaquin County or in the East Bay, where he lives. McNerney says he will not comment on his re-election plans until after the new maps are finalized.

Gill said in a news release that all the money he’s raised came from individuals only, not from organizations or political action committees.

Candidates have until July 15 to submit their June 30 filings, according to a Federal Election Commission spokeswoman.

Joanne Bobin: Your question is answered in the final paragraph of the article. Candidates have a July 15 deadline to file. He hasn't filed yet. The information provided, which isn't complete, came in an e-mail from his campaign.

Why no info on FEC website (shows zero contributions to this campaign) about contributions to this candidate?

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
