The 13th Annual Parade of Lights is being held tonight throughout Downtown Lodi starting at 6:17 p.m. Thousands of spectators are expected to turn out for the free event.
Festivities will include 72 floats, marching bands and an appearance by Santa Claus.
Weather forecasts don't call for any rain, and temperatures are expected to be in the 40s.
Coordinators for the parade are asking attendees to hold off on placing chairs in front of businesses and homes along the parade route until after 4 p.m. Attendees are also asked to be respectful of people's property and to properly dispose of any trash.
There will be no parking along the route, which stretches along Pine Street from Hutchins Street to Church Street, down to Lodi Avenue, east to School Street, north to Locust Street and back up to Hutchins Street.
Parking restrictions begin at 4 p.m. around the float staging area to the northwest of Hutchins Street Square. No parking is allowed along the route starting at 5:45 p.m. and lasting until the parade is over.
All Seasons Carriage in Acampo will be transporting the Grand Marshals for the parade, "Grandpa" Don and "Grandma" Jeanne Phillips of Phillips Farms. The judges will be Lodi City Councilwoman JoAnne Mounce, Fire Marshall Kevin Donnelly and his wife Cathy and Bob and Pam Bechill.
Winners for the best floats will be contacted on Friday, and an award ceremony will be held at La Fuente restaurant on Dec. 16.
