Police chased down and arrested a Lodi man accused of driving his vehicle into at least five parked cars while intoxicated Thursday night, authorities said.

Christian Barron, 19, was driving west on Oak Street around 11:42 p.m. when he hit a curb, Lodi Police Sgt. Eric Versteeg said. Barron’s vehicle went over the curb, onto a lawn and struck at least five parked cars, Versteeg said.

Barron then got out of his car and fled the scene on foot, police said, but officers found and arrested Barron near the intersection of Washington Street and Pine Street.

Barron was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
