Last Thursday, car seat technicians checked car seats at Lodi Lake as part of a campaign to raise public awareness. Out of the total 19 seats inspected, 14 were improperly installed and needed adjustments, Cpl. Dale Eubanks wrote in a news release.
"This would indicate that 87.5 percent of the child seats were improperly installed," Eubanks said.
Technicians from AAA, Lodi Police and Safekids inspected the car seats.
The Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club, Lodi Police Officers Association and DeVinci's Restaurant sponsored the checkpoint.
