Veterans services information to be provided

Several agencies will provide information to promote a successful transition from the military to civilian life will be provided from 7 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

Information on educational programs, financial aid opportunities, employment programs and veterans' benefits will be available. The San Joaquin County Behavioral Services Department will also conduct screenings for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. Veterans having trouble sleeping or concentrating, suffering from war trauma or experiencing bad memories, flashbacks or nightmares are welcome.

The event is sponsored by county Behavioral Health Services, the county Veterans Services Office, the Veterans Center in Modesto, the Palo Alto and Livermore Veterans Administration hospitals, Mather Mental Health Clinic, Delta College, University of the Pacific, Employment Development Department, The Soldiers' Project and Rep. Jerry McNerney's office.

The event will be held in the Mustang Room of Danner Hall at Delta College, 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton. For more information, call 209-468-8859.
