Richard Prima has been hired as the interim public works director in Galt. He retired as Lodi’s public works director in 2008 after more than 30 years with the city.
Prima has stepped into the Galt position while officials recruit for a permanent replacement. City Manager Jason Behrmann said the process should take approximately four months.
Prima is being paid $85 an hour and will be working approximately 25 hours per week, according to Behrmann.
“We’re very happy to have him during this transition in the department,” he said in an email.
Prima’s first day was Monday.
