Frank Gayaldo isn't about to let an attempted terrorist attack change the way he does business.

The international wine broker and winegrape grower who lives in Lodi flies out of the country up to six times per year for business, and said the recently botched attempt at terrorism in Detroit does not change his need to make a living. Gayaldo is a frequent visitor of Costa Rica and China, and has traveled extensively during his lifetime.

This really starts to hit home when you hear local Lodi Muslims yell out anti-American slurs and the yet whay are they here? There are a few that are proud to be in the U.S. These extra measures at our airports are for our own safety. Like someone said on CNN the other day: "Any screening that does not violate you is ineffective."

Crazy People, really in whose eyes, ours for sure, could be a lot of other folks… Butfor them they look at us and see nothing good what so ever.. They see us as pure evil. It’s our way of life yes I repeat my self. Our life style, our movies, our television, ouracceptance of gay life style. Oil they see it as we who steal their resource and try tocorrupt their society. A biggie is we treat women as equals and allow them to hold positions of power in politics and industry. So as they see it we have to go as we stand now. either convert to Islam or die. They don’t need a huge Army, it could be as simpleAs one lone person with a couple of pounds of anthrax turned lose on a windy day toKill over have the population of LA. With our boarders like a sieve both north andSouth that is not as far fetched as it sounds…

As a globalist, Obama's 1st instinct is to envision America as a member in the community of the world. He believes that a dynamic and fluid dialogue with all of the members of the "community" will reap the reward of world peace; as opposed to policing the problem of Islamic extremism, for instance. Obama may or may not be waking-up to the reality of the problem, but this much is sure: if Obama doesn't stop talking with the language of appeasement and start squashing these bugs, then these crazies from Iran, N. Korea to Timbuktu aren't going to stop until they hurt us really bad; making what happened on 9/11 look like an incedent and not a tragedy. I know that Obama wants to do great things for America -- make us green and healthy and such -- and that's very nice; but for God's sake man, can't you start by trying to keep us from getting killed by crazy people? C'mon... that's job one as far as our "health" is concerned; So snap out of it Mr. President, please! And don't worry; if you can manage to keep us alive then you'll still have time for more "talk".

As for a moderate to speak out would be very foolish. It would put him and his entire family at risk of a very nasty death. The radicals have a very long reach but then itIsn’t far from Dearborn Michigan or LA…

To say Greed is the cause of the terrorist anger is like saying the sky is blue..360 millionradical islamist is the figure given for the percentage of the total Islamic religion. Theyhave a problem with every thing westerners do. The food we eat our TV and Moviesthe way women live and work. Back in history Islam controlled a large part of the known world, they want it all back and then some and under Sharia law.. The numbertwo man in al Qaeda Ayman Muḥammad Rabayaḥ aẓ-Ẓawāhirī; an Egyptian Doctorsaid Convert to Islam or die. He is very serious as are most of the upper echelon of their organization .All but a few are highly educated, such as engineers, doctors, Lawyers and scientist. Many were educated in the United States and England, so much for the notion that they were turban wearing savages living in caves, far from it…They are not going away any time soon…This is a Major test for Obama and if he flubs it orDoesn’t take them as serious as he should we could lose an entire American City….

Jerome,The Koran does command these terrorists to do what they do. Islam is the only religion that believes it should be the only religion. Anyone who does not want to follow Islam must be treated as subservient. I could go on. But I think you get the jist of what I am saying. So, in a sense, these terrorists do believe they have a valid reason for blowing themselves up.

jbhiker - I'm really interested in learning precisely what you mean by "greed." It sounds almost as if you believe these terrorists have a valid reason for blowing themselves up and taking innocent lives with them; that their angst with greed is forcing them to do it.

I want Mohammad Gul to speak out and say "islamist extremists" have been involved in all the murders and bombings." [Which they have been] "We are not those people and we decry those actions." "We will do everything we can to help you catch and stop these extremists. " Heck I just wrote his speech for him. Why cant Muslims just come out and say it.....yes, I know why they dont, because they support the extremists. Instead he spits out this CRAP !! "...the only impartial way to handle security is by patting down or scanning everyone."No Gul, You are WRONG !!!! Why dont you help protect Americans, you seem to like it here.

I can solve it pretty quickly. Focus on GREED and eliminate that! When you are willing to blow yourself up in a suicide attempt, you must think your world is hopelessly lost and for Muslims, it is greed that is destroying their world. There is a lot more being done today than there was when I was in College but the Greed-Bar has been raised too high. I think certain groups (not necessarily Americans either) are responsible, especially the proliferation of dictatorial politics.

Of course Former mayor and police chief Larry Hansen isn't in favor of racial profiling, the guys a politician and former political appointee.Let's see, the police are searching for a Hispanic street gang member so they stop and question senior citizens. They are looking for a white male child molester so they stop and question females and blacks. The terrorist attempting to blow up our airliners are young male Muslims. That is who we should be concentrating on with critical screening before they are allow to board an aircraft. Get real and stop the political correct nonsense.

Mr Gayaldo is right when he says, "increased security amounts to little more than theatrics". An interesting perspective is Schneier, at http://www.schneier.com/blog/He observes, "Only two things have made flying safer [since 9/11]: the reinforcement of cockpit doors, and the fact that passengers know now to resist hijackers."

Instead of wasting a lot of time feeling up 90 year old ladies in wheelchairs, we should put extra effort into checking people who fit the profiles of the last thousand mad and crazed bombers and murderers. I would think good muslims would support efforts to make all people safer and more secure. Why dont they ? Larry, I dont believe you. If you saw a body lying on the street from a gunshot wound and bystanders said they saw a 6 foot 4-6" white guy running away with a gun in his hand, who would you be looking for ?? A short, fat person ?? Get real.
