Authorities are investigating why a car was abandoned after it collided with a telephone pole early Monday morning near the intersection of Turner and Davis roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.

When CHP officers arrived at the scene, no one was in the car and power lines were lying in Turner Road. The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m.

The road was still closed as of Monday afternoon.

I'm guessing the reason a car gets abandoned at 3:30am after an accident is because the driver was drunk and didn't want to get arrested.

    You're welcome LPD!
