Lockeford man found dead in Stockton park


A Lockeford man was shot to death while sitting in a parking lot at a Stockton park late Friday night, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Earl Craig, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene according to a sheriff’s report. He was found in a Dodge van in the northeast corner of East Side Park, East Marsh Street and South Del Mar Avenue, Stockton.

Deputies were called after a loud crash and gunfire were heard at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Les Garcia.

Craig was declared dead after life-saving measures were administered by deputies, firefighters and ambulance workers, Garcia said.
