The following is a list of public meetings in the Lodi and Galt areas this week:


Galt Youth Committee

When and where: 7 p.m., City Council Conference Room, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.


North San Joaquin Water Conservation District

Key Items:

    • Administer oath of office to board members Mark Beck, Hugh Scanlon, Marden Wilber and Joe Peterson.

    • Receive report on district operations.

    • Consider benefit assessment process for generating revenue.

When and where: 8:30 a.m., Lodi Public Library, 201 W. Locust St., Lodi.

Galt City Council

Key items:

  • Give the oaths of office to three new council members and elect a new mayor and vice mayor.
  • Receive a comprehensive annual audit of the city’s finances from the last fiscal year, which ended June 30.
  • Receive an update on the South Sacramento Habitat Conservation plan.

When and where: 7 p.m., City Hall, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.

Lodi City Council shirtsleeve

Key items:

  • Discuss a revised Electric Utility reserve fund policy.
  • Discuss the first quarter financial reports for the water, wastewater and Electric Utility department.

When and where: 7 a.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Lodi Parks and Recreation Commission

Key item:

  • Receive updates on the Grape Bowl, Lodi Lake, DeBenedetti Park and Roget Park.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • Award a $1.5 million contract to George Reed to install paved shoulders and resurface more than four miles on Harney Lane between Jack Tone and Clements roads. Construction is expected to begin in April and take 40 working days.
  • Add a district attorney investigator’s position.
  • Approval of 2010 comprehensive economic development strategy for the county.
  • Presentation by the county Aviation Advisory Committee regarding Stockton Metropolitan Airport’s 2010-15 strategic plan.
  • Service and retiree award presentation (1:30 p.m. calendar).

When and where: 9 a.m., board chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation Commission

Key items:

  • Discussion of the role of the Oak Grove Regional Park Nature Area Advisory Group, including past and recent activities.
  • Report on acquiring park land in Tracy area. Vote by Board of Supervisors scheduled for Dec. 14.

When and where: 5:30 p.m., Micke Grove Regional Park Memorial Building, 11793 N. Micke Grove Road, Lodi.


Galt Joint Union Elementary School District

Key items:

  • Swearing in of new school board members and recognition of service by outgoing trustees Tina Skinner, Donna Settles and Robert Ellis.
  • Election of president, vice president, clerk and board representative.
  • Recognition of Cindy McCown for achieving National Board Certificate of Teaching Excellence.
  • Update on Sly Park.

When and where: 7 p.m., Galt City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive. (Special open session/board workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday)

Lodi Arts Commission

Key items:

  • Receive updates on the Seward Johnson exhibit, the Art Hop, the Poetry Art Hop and Artisan Masters.

When and where: 12 p.m., Hutchins Street Square, Thomas Theatre Gallery, 125 S. Hutchins Street, Lodi.

Lodi Planning Commission

Key items:

  • Discuss a request for a use permit to allow beer and wine sales at 11 N. School St. from applicant Cindy Della Monica.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Mokelumne Rural Fire District board

Key items:

  • Research purchasing solar panels for the fire station.
  • Discuss firefighters bill of rights.

When and where: 7 p.m., fire station, 13157 E. Brandt Road, Lockeford.


Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Council

Key items:

  • Update about levees.
  • Tally scores for the Woodbridge Excellence Award.

When and where: 7 p.m., Lodi Elks Lodge, 19071 N. Lower Sacramento Road, Woodbridge.

They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl.
