San Joaquin Historical Society will meet Monday

The San Joaquin County Historical Society will meet on Monday in the Micke Memorial Building at Micke Grove Park. Sylvia Sun Minnick, a research historian and author of three books on Chinese heritage in Stockton, will be the speaker. She will speak about her recently published memoirs, “Never A Burnt Bridge.”

Minnick was born in Malaysia and is a 46-year resident of Stockton. Her books about Chinese heritage include “Samfow: The San Joaquin Chinese Legacy” and the “Chinese Community of Stockton.”
