The San Joaquin County Supervisors recently allocated a $3,000 stipend to the Lodi Unified School District to participate in Friday Night Live, a program designed to engage teens as peer leaders to promote healthy lifestyles free of alcohol, drugs and tobacco.
Lodi High School is participating for the first time, while two other Lodi Unified schools, Tokay High and McNair, are continuing their participation.
The stipend came from the county Behavioral Health Services Department, which receives funds from the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
