Joanne, I believe most of what You say because I have had many comments barred and many 'lost'.
But Lodi's censors seem no more slanted than the 'Huffington Post' editors who have deleted no less than 50% of my right wing thinking post.... and I consider myself a Moderate. ?
...and personally I don't blame either set of censors, they are fear filled humans just like the rest of Us.

I agree with You Jerome, The best tack is to ignore them.

Doug, Never argue with 'drunks, idiots or the insane'.
They have driven You down because You keep trying to 'prove Your point'.
Forget about it Doug, just write what You believe is true, then let it rest, those that can see .. will see.
Those that can't ...won't.

I think alot of this bickering about who is to blame would be handled if when election day came we would vote and decide which 'Political Party" would be in power for the next 4 years.
If we had Republicans win, Every elected spot from pres to dog catcher would be Republican. The same for Demo's winning the election.
The advantage to that system, after a short while every one knows, exactly who to blame or who to give the Kudos.
From my point of view the Repubs have promoted ideas and actions that in some places would be called treason, other places just call it stupid. i.e. The Repubs vowing to STOP ALL legislation coming from the White house.
But I could be mistaken considering the tangle of finger pointing that politicians do.

That looks like an easy way to get oneself on the FBI's Lodi terror watch list.

Ms. Erickson, your righteous indignation is quite telling. Perhaps you missed the eight years of such behavior directed at President George W. Bush. Or did you believe having a Hitler-esque mustache of Bush okay with you?
For the record, I believe such antics are just that - antics. I'm only offended to the point that whatever real message they were trying to convey is diluted by the use of the mustache. Hitler was an evil man. Is Obama evil? It all depends on one's point of view I suppose. But I wouldn't use the mustache.
The First Amendment protects these people - just as it does for either you or me when determining the best way to voice our opposition or support for our government. Unless President Obama is in any way threatened by such "speech," there's little that can be done. This is one of those "hating what they say, but defending to the death their right to say it" kind of moments. The best tack to take is to simply ignore them.
But to utter, "OMG..only in Lodi, CA could someone get away with the disgracefull (sic) displaying a picture of President Obama depicting him as Hitler!!!!!!! This is so off the charts of normal behavior! I am disgusted by it. Wow......" is just a tad over the top. In no way is this form of expression limited to little ol' Lodi, California.

And, Josh, I think it is time to abolish the two party system, giving members of both parties, along with the other smaller parties, the chance to speak their own thoughts and opinions and vote the way they want iwthout ramifications from their own respective parties without fear of being blackballed or left off the next election ticket. The problem is how to approach this problem before it gets even worse.
Doug Chaney posted at 11:53 am on Sun, Feb 24, 2013.
Josh, you don't have to feel bad, the Democratic party isn't far behind and catching up fast.

Rick, President Obama didn't kill tens of thousands of our own young brave troops and maim another hundred thousand or so for life by taking us to a war in the wrong country to seek revenge for Saddam threatening to kill his father and to capture more oil wealth for the republican party war hawks who were instrumental in trumping up the documents to make it appear that there really was a threat of nuclear weapons, which there clearly wasn't. Why don't you republicon war hawks take the blame like a man? And not to mention the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians were merdered by Bush, including the elderly, women and children. And you call President Obama fascist?

Sigh........and I wonder why my Republican Party continues to flounder.

Careful, Mr. Chaney...you may end up getting chastised by the webmaster who, just yesterday, asked if I thought LNS was ginning up "resentment and bigotry against Cheerios" because they had published an article about General Mills.
Just for clarification, this was in response to my comment about Marty Weybret's "editorial" from last July about Census figures indicating a growing Latino population in Lodi and the Thursday article about the nationally growing Latino population in the US which included more Lodi numbers.
In his "editorial," Mr. Weybret promised more tidbits from the Census that were pertinent to Lodi, but that never materialized, which of course leads one to believe the intention was to frighten the non-Latino population of this lovely little town.
Of course, the illustrious webmaster pooh-poohed that contention, thus the Cheerios comment.

This is just the seemingly endless intolerance and bigotry that appear in this paper, apparently indicating what's newsworthy, not, in this failing local paper. The editor and publisher seem to choose their articles to pander to the bigoted class of older Lodians, who seem to be the only ones left that subscribe.
