Directors of the North San Joaquin Water Conservation District will meet Thursday evening in a special session to discuss a potential grant project.

The Tracy Lake project, a plan involving private and federal funds to use district water, is the focus of the session. The Bureau of Reclamation has approved offering the district grant funds for the project and directors are in the process of determining if they will accept.

The plan, if approved, would enable the farmers around Tracy Lake to fill the temporary lakes with water and use them to irrigate their crops throughout the year.

Thursday's meeting will discuss expenses and revenues associated with the project, as well as agreements with property owners around the lake.

The meeting takes place at 6 p.m. at the Mokelumne Fire District, located at 13157 E. Brandt Road.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
