The Lodi Unified School District board at its first meeting of the year tonight plans to receive a $52,000 donation for the use of iPads at Claremont and Lakewood schools.
The board will also recognize the elementary school physical education teachers who received a third-place award in the Parade of Lights in December.
Trustees will also vote on two resolutions.
One would begin a Promoting Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income program, which aims to help students in need get into post-secondary schools or receive job training to reduce their reliance on SSI.
The second would allow the district to refinance loans, reducing their payments and lessening the expense on the general fund by $63,000 annually.
The meeting begins at 7:15 p.m. at the James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi, and is open to the public.
