Lodi Police Chief Mark Helms and Lt. Chris Jacobson presented a proclamation to several volunteers at Wednesday night’s Lodi City Council meeting to dedicate the week of April 6 to 13 as National Volunteers Week.
National Volunteers Week recognizes and celebrates the impact volunteers have on the community. According to city of Lodi staff, more than 2,000 Lodi residents donated 68,670-plus hours of volunteer service in 2013, saving the city over $1.5 million.
