The bookkeeper accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from a local business pleaded not guilty today in San Joaquin County Superior Court in Lodi.

Cheryl Jacobson, whose last name was corrected to Jacobson-Thompson to reflect her married name during today's arraignment, allegedly took nearly $250,000 from Tokay Glass Co.

Although Deputy District Attorney Stephen Taylor previously said Jacobson-Thompson may have taken more than $400,000, the final figures given put the amount allegedly stolen at $243,691, including $103,691 in currency.

Bail remained set at $250,000.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
