A Stockton resident received a minor injury after she allegedly ran a red light and struck a GrapeLine bus Wednesday morning, police said.

The driver, a 25-year-old female from Stockton, sustained minor abrasions from her seat belt as a result of the crash, said Officer Chris Kauffman of the Lodi Police Department. The GrapeLine bus did not have any passengers on board and the driver was not harmed, he said.

The accident took place at the intersection of Hutchins Street and Kettleman Lane around 7:30 a.m. The bus was traveling south on Hutchins Street and turning east onto Kettleman Lane when the female driving a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica failed to stop at a red light, police said.

She was cited for a red light violation and for not providing proof of insurance, Kauffman said.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
