Express Type and Graphics was recently named business of the year by the Galt District Chamber of Commerce.
Owned by Dan and Toni Gerling of Galt, Express Type was named because of the firm's quality and service, plus its community support to organizations like the Galt High Band Boosters and Galt Sunrise Rotary Club, said Barbara Clare, the chamber's chief executive officer.
Additionally, Leanne McFaddin, a Galt Realtor associate, was installed as the chamber's new chairwoman. She replaces Barbara Smith, who held the position this year.
Other chamber officers for 2005 will be Chairman-elect John White, Second Vice Chairwoman Terry Parker, Chief Financial Officer Randy Olsen and Secretary David Herburger. Smith will remain on the board for one year as past chairwoman.
Serving two-year terms on the chamber board are Vicki Tuttle, John Moran, Carrie Maylum, Jim Templeton and Barbara Greer. Serving one-year terms are Ann Ullrich, Carol Backert, Al Luna and Frank Mack.
John Nishida and Shaun Farrell will continue on the chamber board one more year. James M. Dills, Danni Van Lone and Ron Konkel have left the board.
A representative from Sacramento County Supervisor Don Nottoli's office presented the chamber with a proclamation honoring its 65th anniversary.
