Lodi Physical Therapy and the PUMP Institute, a Lodi strength, performance and weight-loss center, are sponsoring 5K and 10K runs at Lodi Lake on Saturday to raise money for Lodi Unified School District high school sports programs.
The two businesses have raised $60,000 over the last six years with the Lodi Lake run, according to Francisco Magana, one of the event organizers.
The run begins at 9 a.m. and costs $35 to participate. Children under age 10 can run without paying a fee, and will receive a pumpkin from Phillips Farms.
Participants will receive an event T-shirt, pasta dinner on Friday, refreshments, snacks, eligibility for age group awards and a goodie bag.
Proceeds will go to sports programs that were hit by budget cuts at Lodi, Tokay, Bear Creek and McNair high schools, Magana said. They will also help with new equipment for students who couldn't otherwise afford it, he said. For more information, call 209-365-7867.
