Residents and business people from Lodi to Bakersfield will be asked to reduce their driving and carpooling because air has become stagnant enough to warrant an “air alert.”

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District says the air alert will be in effect today through Sunday in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties, and portions of Kern County.

Did anyone else see on the news last night that the Air Quality Board has fined the San Joaquin Valley $29,000,000 for not meeting certain air quality standards? The cost will be passed on by charging an additional $12 on every vehicle registration.

Did my part, was out running errands on my 4-wheel bike today. Better than a cup of coffee in the morning. Just wish the kids practices weren't the same time the same day at different fields, I'd take my bike if I could figure out how to pick them both up at two different fields at the same time.
