The Galt City Council will be asked at its regular meeting Tuesday to appropriate an additional $20,000 for the expansion of the Golden Heights water treatment plant. The funding is needed to pay for upgrades to an control system portion of the plant.
In other action Tuesday, council members are expected to:
- Approve a co-sponsorship with the Committee for Character in Sports to bring in athletes to instruct youths as well as character workshops.
- Receive an update from new Mayor Marylou Powers on the city’s strategic plan.
- Make a presentation to the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District for receiving the “Race to the Top” federal grant in the amount of $10 million.
- Appoint citizens to committees and commissions
