The Lodi City Council will hold a public hearing and discuss proposed rate increases for water, wastewater and garbage at its Wednesday meeting.
The discussion follows a 15-page notification sent to homes in March explaining Proposition 218 and the protest hearing process residents are allowed to undertake. Proposition 218 requires cities to provide a notice of proposed rate increases over the next five years. The city is required to send notices to home owners and property owners 45 days prior to holding a public hearing.
