Who went: Jeff, Katy, Sophie and Ethan Stroh, of Lodi; Dave Corene, Connor and Joseph Phillips, of Lodi.
The trip: A driving/camping trip across Nevada and Utah. Our final destinations were Aspen and Telluride in Colorado.
Highlights: We enjoyed having the Phillips text us pictures through Nevada of them doing challenges we gave them (“Amazing Race”-like challenges) since we left a day earlier than they did.
We survived a wind storm in Green River, Utah.
Corene and Katy attended funky cooking shows by Maria Batali and Jose Andres at the Aspen Food and Wine Show.
We mountain biked any chance we got.
The kids shot the gun while camping any chance they got.
We met and talked with Cat Cora from the Iron Chef show while in Telluride.
The kids loved playing Chinese Fire Drill on the gondula in Telluride.
The parents drank wine, shopped, biked, hiked and drank more wine.
Dave and Jeff enjoyed beer after their mountain bike rides.
Rode and climbed on Independence Pass above Aspen.
Would you go again? I’m not sure we’ve travel together again, but we’ll let you know once we return from our Mexico vacation together in December.
