LOCKEFORD — If finances are tight but your pet is in need of a rabies shot, look no further than the free vaccination and microchip clinic that the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is hosting on Saturday.

In cooperation with the Mokelumne River Veterinary Hospital, the Sheriff’s Office will run the clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lockeford Community Center, 19258 N. Jack Tone Road.

The clinic is open to all residents within an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County with proof of residency. The clinic will vaccinate a maximum of 50 dogs on a first-come, first served basis. Each resident may bring a total of three dogs to be vaccinated. Dogs must arrive on a leash.
