Snapshot: Family fun on the Colorado River

Who went, and what do you do?

The Seibel family, along with one soon-to-be-Seibel: Dustin, an athletic trainer; Mattie, a sample coordinator for Scotto Family Cellars; Amanda, a landscape architect; Tricia, a logistics engineer for California Waste; Brandon, owner of BKS Vending; Jeff, a 2017 Lodi High graduate getting ready to go to Delta College; Ryan, an investment broker for Northwestern Mutual; and Lauren, a cosmetologist at Super Cuts.

Also along on the trip were Dennis Seibel, retired plumbing contractor, and Joanne Seibel, a massage therapist at Perfect Balance Day Spa from Lodi, the parents of Brandon, Dustin and Ryan.

Everyone is from Lodi; Amanda and Ryan now live in the L.A. area.

Where did you go?

We all went to the wonderful river house of Byron and Chris Klemaske on the Colorado River at Walters Camp in California, bordering Arizona, for a weekend filled with fun on the river.

The trip was to give us a chance to meet Amanda’s parents, Byron and Chris Klemaske, as she prepares to join the family.

We flew into San Diego and enjoyed the sights, then took off for a three-hour drive through the amazing California mountains and high desert to our wonderful destination in the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge.

We went boating, Jet Skiing, rafting, paddleboarding and swimming. We docked on a sand bar and had a barbecue and played horseshoes. We even got to go skeet shooting (and Jeff had the best eye).

In the evening we had a cornhole tournament and enjoyed great food with family.

Will you go again?

We will go again and again! It was just so much fun with our families.

We know Lodians go on plenty of trips. We’d love to see photos of your adventures so we can share them with our readers. Send your digital photographs to kyla@lodinews. com, along with a short write-up telling us where you went, who came along, and what you did.
