Lodians and friends visit British Virgin Islands

Taylor Kleinert led the Tokay girls water polo team with five goals in Tuesday’s 14-4 Tri-City Athletic League victory over Tracy on Tuesday. Nicole Itturan added four goals, Hailey Scinlar two, Ava Canestrino two and Lizzy Macfarlane one.

Jill Wagner held down the cage, blocking 11 shots.

Tokay led 6-2 after the first half and didn’t let up, outscoring the Bulldogs 2-0 in the fourth quarter.



Lodi 8, West 1

The Flames continued to roll in league play with Tuesday’s win, with Jordan Mangskou at No. 3 singles the only one to take a point for West.

Nikki Barajas won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Emma Canepa won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2, CeCe Reiff won 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 at No. 4, Lauren Wall won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and Gabi Borra won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.

In doubles, Mia Carouba/Jenna Mulrooney won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, Fran Petersen/Macey machado won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 and Alyssa Mataga/Kaylee Mataga won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.

Lincoln 8, Tokay 1

Nerea Arellano accounted for the only Tokay point in Tuesday’s match, defeating Lincoln’s Miya Sakai-Cheng 6-2, 7-5 (7-3) at No. 4 singles.

None of the other matches went to a third set, though Tokay’s Jessika Swanson pushed Alyssa Le in a 6-3, 6-4 loss at No. 2 singles and Geraldine Fabro lost 6-2, 6-4 to Serenity Carter at No. 6 singles.


Frosh-soph girls

Tokay 9, Tracy 6

Jesse Cunningham and Makenna Finch each scored three goals, and Mira Patino added two in Tuesday’s win. Lexy Zazzarino was in goal for the win.



Lincoln 4, Lodi 1

Katie Petersen had 20 digs and two assists for Lodi in Tuesday’s TCAL match against Lincoln. The final scores were 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.

Elliana Pappas had 29 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Kelsey Brehm followed with 12 kills, three aces and six digs; Paige Halligan 10 kills, seven digs and an assist and Josie Ferguson six kills, six digs, four aces, two assists and a blocked shot.

Liberty Ranch 3, Union Mine 0

In Tuesday’s Sierra Valley Conference road match in El Dorado, the Hawks (2-0 in the SVC, 12-5) survived a third set scare from the host Diamondbacks to remain undefeated in conference play.

Peyton Sorosinski had 24 assists to lead Liberty Ranch. Ashanti Cason recorded six blocked shots and six kills, and Grace Cellli had nine kills and four blocked shots.

Since the start of SVC action, Liberty Ranch has won every game.

Liberty Ranch’s frosh/soph team went three games to beat Union Mine, 25-19, 18-25, 15-13.

Lodi Academy 3, Tioga 1

After dropping the first set, the Titans reeled off three straight to win 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-13.


Lodi 3, Lincoln 0

Bailey Correia had four kills, two digs and three blocks to help the Flames improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in TCAL play with a 20-25, 25-15, 15-13 win.

Marissa Fabian added four kills, three digs and two aces and Annie Musgrave had seven digs and two kills.


Lodi 3, Lincoln 0

Emma Eigenberger was all over the court in a 25-16, 24-26, 16-14 win, with five assists, four digs, two kills and two aces.

Grace Salazar added four digs and four kills, Camille Quinones had five kills and two aces and Hannah Wooldridge had two blocks.
