Who: Diana Brackett, Kathy Ray and Joanna Perkins.

Hometown: Lodi.

Vacation Spot: Evanston, Ill. (near Chicago). We went to see our cousin/newphew/son Jordan Perkins play football at Northwestern University.

Highlights: Jordan gave us a tour of the beautiful Northwestern campus, including his small dorm room. On the day of the game, we were there at the stadium very early to see the team off the bus. The team bus was escorted by Evanston Police Department. The band, the cheerleaders and other parents also greeted the team. It was very exciting watching Jordan play football in a college game. He played on special teams and made a tackle. The crowd was very enthusiastic, and Northwestern beat Indiana 44-29. The hometown loves their Wildcats — the whole team is in the school’s color of purple. We also took the “L” train to downtown Chicago for a day of shopping. There were so many stores and places to shop that we did not even make a dent on Michigan Avenue. We ate at some very delicious restaurants, including a Chicago-style pizza place, a couple of pubs that served delicious sandwiches and salads.

Would you go again? Yes, we will be going back once a year for the next four years.
