I'm Alexis, i'm 13 years old, i've had Biotin Deficiency since I was born obviously. But most people have like half of the disease. I have full Biotin Deficiency. The symptoms are HORRIBLE. When i was born i was the second in the United States to have full Biotin Deficiency, my body doesn't make it at all. A lot of people have what I call "Half" Biotin Deficiency. It's technically rare because it's not an extremely common disease, there are many people living on earth. I get/have these : Poor immunity, Nerve pain, Skin conditions, High cholesterol & Cognitive problems. I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm worried 24/7 about my condition because I don't like taking pills, so i don't really take my biotin on a daily basis. Can anyone tell me if i'm in risk of dying too? I know i'm young, but none of my doctors even know what Biotin Deficiency is. Help? [sad]
